LaVerne Gwendolyn Sacher, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 4, 2025. She was born on January 19, 1934, to Almeda and Vern Nesbit in Erie, Kansas, and grew up alongside her brother, Michael.
A proud graduate of Balboa High School, Class of 1951, LaVerne married and is survived by the love of her life, Bob Sacher. Through 73+ years of marriage, they built a wonderful life and raised four children - Kathy, Jim, Laurie, and Rich - creating a home filled with laughter, love, and countless memories.
LaVerne enjoyed a lengthy career with Graniterock, where she was respected for her dedication and strong work ethic. Outside of work, she was an active and creative spirit. She loved bowling, sewing, needle work, traveling to unexplored places, and snow skiing with family and friends. LaVerne and Bob enjoyed spending time at Grandpa Ernie's Wilderness Acres in Fort Bragg.
For 30 years, LaVerne joyfully hosted the annual Holiday Craft Boutique in Redwood City, a cherished community tradition that reflected her creativity and welcoming nature.
Most of all, LaVerne found joy in being surrounded by her family. She was immensely proud of her family and found great joy in their accomplishments. She is survived by her children Kathy, Jim (Betty), Laurie (Ron), and Rich (Laurie); grandchildren Eric (Bambi) and Jeff Baechler, James (Brie) and Carrie Sacher, Alyssa and Kurt (Kelly) Ramont, Rob (Emma) and Kyle (Gabby) Sacher; and great-grandchildren Kayli, Cameron, Kendra, and Willow Baechler, Addie and Matt Sacher, Adam and Sophia Ramont, Olivia and Hadley Sacher, and Rowan Sacher. Predeceased by her Grandson Matt Sacher.
LaVerne will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and zest for life. Her legacy lives on in the love she shared and the many lives she touched. Please join the family for a Celebration of Life on January 17, 2026 at 2:00; Greenhorn Creek Fireside Room; 711 McCauley Ranch Rd., Angels Camp, Ca.
