Lavinia Gasque

Lavinia Ellis Gasque, 96, of Trenton, New Jersey, transitioned from labor to reward on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center.
Lavinia was born in Trenton, New Jersey on August 30, 1928 to Estella and Willie Harris, and raised by Rachel Harris, a second mother that she loved so much. She was educated in Trenton Public Schools and pursued a career as a nurse's aide at Helene Fuld Hospital for five years. She would move on to become a crossing guard for the City of Trenton Police Department a job she loved. After for 28 years of being touched by and helping the children, she retired.
She was married to David Gasque from Marion, South Carolina. This union was blessed with Harriet Elaine Jones, Alphonso Gaskins, Beverly Renee Robinson, Wanda Worthy and Ronald "Breezy" Briggs. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, and served as the mother of the church.
In addition to her parents, Lavinia is predeceased by her husband, David Gasque; children, Harriet Elaine Jones, Alphonso Gaskins, Wanda Worthy and Ronald "Breezy" Briggs; sisters, Vermell Downing, Ruth Kerr, Estella Harris and Darnell Gardiner; brothers, Daniel and Charles Harris.
Lavinia leaves to cherish precious memories her daughter, Beverly R. Robinson; sister, Lillian Givens; adopted brother, Fred Herndon, and a special family friend, Judy, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
