LaVonne M. Granheim

LaVonne "Polly" Marie Granheim, age 89, of Ellsworth, passed away on July 4, 2023 at Ellsworth Health Services. LaVonne was born to Eldon and LaGarda (Hanson) Blodgett on July 14, 1933 in Trimbelle Township, WI. She attended Carpenter School through 8 grade. She worked at Smeads as a machine operator. She married the love of her life Robert Granheim on July 15, 1948 in Bayport, MN. Their marriage blessed them with their three daughters Kathy, Virginia, and Roberta.
Polly absolutely loved her grandchildren; they were the light of her life. Spending time with them, spoiling them was one of her greatest loves in life. She also really enjoyed sewing, making many projects and clothes over the years. Polly was an avid camper, spending time in the great outdoors and was fond of throwing out a line and seeing if she could catch any fish as well.
LaVonne is survived by her daughters: Kathy Peterson, and Virginia "Ginny" (Roger) Horstmann; grandchildren: Doug (Stephanie) Peterson, Robert (Wendy) Penny, Darrel (Missy) Peterson, Steven (Teresa) Horstmann, Rachel Penny-Matzek, and Scott Horstmann; great grandchildren: Blake, Carter, Breanna, Abby, Noah, Nicholas, Owen, Ian, Dylan, Tyler, and Weslyn; siblings: Walter "Bud" (Mary Ann) Blodgett, Janice (Jim) Spartz, and JoAnn Blodgett: along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. LaVonne was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, daughter, Roberta Penny; son-in-law: Ed Peterson; parents: Eldon and LaGarda; siblings: Sharon Blodgett, Shelby Hartman, Jackie Blodgett, Darrell Blodgett and brother-in-law Jim Spartz.
A Celebration of Life for LaVonne will be from 11:00am to 3:00pm on July 15, 2023 at O'Connell Family Funeral Home: 130 N Grant St. Ellsworth, WI 54011. Interment will be at Trimbelle Cemetery.
