Memorial service for Lavonne "Von" D. Rohde, 82, of Lawton will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Sean Cho, pastor of First United Methodist Church and Rev. Chuck Pettigrew, pastor of Liberty Heights Christian Church officiating.

Mr. Rohde passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at his home in Lawton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Von was born on December 14, 1942 in Sidney, Nebraska to George and Emma (Kurth) Rohde. He attended school in Gurley, NE and joined the United States Air Force on March 5, 1962 and later was honorably discharged on March 5, 1970. During his time in the military, he was stationed in England where he was able to visit some countries in Europe and also Spain. On his return to the United States, he served in South Carolina, and Altus, OK and this is where he met his future wife to be, Miss Betty Ruth Powell in August. They were married on November 22, 1967 in Mountain View, OK and later moved to Georgia where Von was discharged. They were blessed with one precious son, Christian George Rohde. After the air force, they chose to live in Lawton and Von eventually became a civil servant for the Department of the Army, retiring on September 30, 1997. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, and supporting Cameron Athletics, especially Women's Basketball.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; his brother, Randy Rohde and wife, Marlene, of Columbus, NE; his sister in law, Doris Rohde, of Centennial, CO; a former sister in law, Carolyn Rohde, of Columbus, NE; sister in law, Nita Powell, of Lawton,OK; numerous nieces, nephews and their families; and his beloved fur babies, Ebony and Ittybit, who loved their daddy.

He is preceded in death by his son, Chris Rohde; his parents, George and Emma Rohde; four brothers, Wayne, Ronald, Gerald, and Larry; three sisters, Shirley Carlson, Norma Jean Morrell, and Beverly Todenhoft; sisters in law, Patty, Neoma, and Donna; five brothers in law, Kenneth Carlson, Harry Morrell, Art Todenhoft, LJ Powell, and Cecil Powell; and his sister in law, LaVerne Powell.

Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity or to the Cameron Athletics Department for Women's Basketball at 2800 W Gore, Lawton, Ok 73505.
