Word has been received of the death of Kerry "KC" Chavez, 68, of Faxon, OK.

Kerry passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at his home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

No services are planned at this time.

Kerry was born on August 21,1956 in Albuquerque, NM to Jim and Evelyn (Buchwald) Chavez. When he was about one year old his family moved to Faxon, OK where he grew up and began school. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1974. After graduating, KC began riding motorcycles and building drag cars with his brothers. Kerry held many jobs in his life including automotive and motorcycle mechanic, welder, propane truck driver, but he was most proud to be the owner and operator of Mom's Only Chance Saloon in Faxon, OK. Kerry enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his boys.

He is survived by his mother, Evelyn, of the home; his sons, Harley Chavez and his wife, Rebecca, and Aron Chavez and his girlfriend, LaTisha, all of Lawton, OK; his brother, Dennis Chavez and his wife Debbie, of Faxon, OK; his sister, Barbara Lehman and her husband Greg, of Nashville, TN; his grandchildren, Hailey Rain Chavez, Presley Grace Chavez, Karli Janaiy Chavez, Liam Rex Chavez, and one on the way; his nieces, Autumn Chavez and fiance, Derrick, and Bambi Chavez and fiance, Billy Karr; his nephews, JJ Chavez, Ron Chavez and his wife, Meredith, and Casey Chavez; his best friend, Jack Timms; and many other loving family members and friends.

Kerry is preceded in death by his father; his wife, Christine Holland; and his brother, Ronald Chavez.
