"Loving husband and brother"
Mr. Lawrence "Larry" Alan Barbieri, 76, of Danbury, passed away at Danbury Hospital on Friday, February 23, 2024 after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Sally (Parizek) Barbieri.
Larry was born in Waterbury, CT on July 12, 1947, son of the late Louis A. and Sophie (Verseckas) Barbieri. He graduated from W. F. Kaynor Technical High School, Class of 1965. He earned his Associates Degree from Waterbury State Technical College and attended the University of New Haven. He worked as a product engineer for Risdon Manufacturing Corporation for forty years until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the SME, Society of Manufacturing Engineers and a lifetime member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, Waterbury/Derby Chapter. His favorite color was blue and his passion was singing. Larry was a very kind and charismatic individual who brought joy into many people's lives. He will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife Sally of forty-two years, Larry is survived by; his mother-in-law, Sophie Parizek of W. Willington, CT; a brother-in-law, David Wheeler of Waterbury, CT and two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Benton of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and Karen Biebel of Stratford, CT and close friend, Lorraine Diaz of Brookfield, CT. Besides his parents, Larry was predeceased by his father-in-law, William J. Parizek, his sister, Linda C. Wheeler and two brothers-in-law, Doug Benton and Jack Biebel.
Arrangements: His funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway Waterbury, CT. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. A calling hour will be held on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
