Lawrence "Derek" Briscoe, son of Lawrence Briscoe and Elizabeth (Johnson) Briscoe was born on September 11, 1968, in Baltimore, Maryland. He transitioned from this life on September 9, 2023. Derek received his education in the Baltimore City Public School system. Derek enjoyed reading and learning. You could always find him reading the encyclopedia, the old brown and black ones. Learning was a lifelong goal and commitment of his. Derek was an avid chess player and was actually quite good. Derek loved sports and played basketball and baseball. He enjoyed watching and hosting Football parties. He loved to look good and was always fashionable whenever he stepped out. Derek had a serious mind and a loving silly heart. He was firm with his faith. Derek loved real Hip Hop and his favorite female artist was 'Sade'.
In 1987, his daughter was born. Danielle, affectionately called "Booboo" by him was the apple of his eye. He loved to be around her and adored and spoiled her. He and Booboo had a special bond. On July 1, 2005, Derek married Crystal Jones. He was a wonderful husband, supporter, and her best friend. Derek was good at anything that he put his mind to, he was a jack of all trades. He received various certificates such as mechanic, home improvement, and his license for roofing.
Derek is preceded in death by his grandparents; Rosalie and JW Wilds, Geraldine James and James E. Briscoe, his sister Denise Batts, uncles; Ricky Wilds and J.W Wilds Jr., and aunt Margaret Wallace. He is survived by his wife; Crystal Briscoe, parents; Lawrence Briscoe and Elizabeth Briscoe, his one and only daughter; Danielle Briscoe, sisters; Valerie Moore, Tracy Briscoe-Lawson, and Shervon Desmond, brother-in-law; Duane Lawson, aunts; Dennicha Wilds and Gloria Singletary, Loraine Briscoe-Hardy, uncles; Keith Wilds and Anthony Wilds, best friend; Manuel Sewell, Longtime special friend and supporter Crystal Carter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
