Lawrence Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Birdsong Cremations on Sep. 24, 2025.
Born on March 16, 1926, in New York, Larry passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025. He was a man of deep convictions and quiet strength. Among the many things he cherished in life, he held dearest his wife Joann, his children Patricia, Karen, David and Jennifer, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, his unwavering faith in God, his service to his country, and his lifelong passion for aviation.

Larry proudly served in the military and carried that sense of honor and discipline throughout his life. His love for flying was unmatched. If it were possible, he would have flown himself to his final destination, seated proudly behind the controls of a plane he knew intimately. Even in his final days, when memory began to fade, he could still recite his aircraft's registration number without hesitation-a testament to the lasting joy it brought him.

Though he could be stubborn and proud, those who truly knew him understood that beneath his firm exterior was a heart full of love and deep loyalty. Joann saw that clearly from the start when she first met him in a singles class at First Assembly of God Church, led by Pastor Tom Calk. That moment sparked the beginning of a love that would endure for over three decades.

We will be celebrating the life of Larry and Joann on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 at Bonham State Park. After a wonderful celebration, the family will spread the ashes of Larry and Joann in a private moment.
