Funeral services for Lawrence Duncan Jr. will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Christian Living Fellowship Church with Reverend Bobby Ganaway officiating and Reverend Sadie Sawyer speaking. Mr. Duncan's burial with full military honors will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service. Serving as pallbearers will be SirDarren Duncan, Rocky Price, Tank Woods, Eddie Miller, Noah Shapkoff, and Lawrence Duncan. The honorary pallbearers will be Tim Duncan, Kim Duncan, Ricky Duncan, Djae'Quan Brooks, David Ball, and Calvin Hopkins. A visitation will be held at Christian Living Fellowship Church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Lawrence was born October 12, 1935, in Gainesville, Florida and passed away July 22, 2025, in his home in Leesville at the age of 89. He proudly served in the Army for 20 years before retiring and then worked as a truck driver for Vernon Moving and Storage for about 27 years. In his free time, Lawrence enjoyed hunting, visiting the casino, and playing lotto. He spent many hours fellowshipping with friends at the Vernon Council on Aging. Time with his family was very important to him, and he cherished them all. Everywhere Lawrence went he made an impression on people with his easy-going, friendly nature, and he will be missed by many. Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Donetta Nell Duncan; son, Earnest F. McQueen; daughter, Phelecia Duncan; grandchild, Atiyana Duncan; parents, Lawrence Duncan Sr. and Clara Lee Pitts Duncan; Uncle Jessie and Aunt Marcella Pitts (who raised him); and siblings, Vincent Duncan, Glencent Duncan, Joseph Duncan, and Casey Duncan. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Darren McQueen (Tammy), Gladys McQueen, Lawarence F. Duncan III (Desiree), Alicia Duncan (Rocky), Ricky Duncan, and David Ball (Jackie); grandchildren, Janee McQueen (Tank), Kingsley McQueen, Darren McQueen, Malachi McQueen, Steven McQueen, Alex McQueen, Serena McQueen, Akira McQueen, Keatra Brown (Kyle), Dell Groce, SirDarren Duncan (Marissa), Sierra Duncan, LaBresha Coleman; Tatiyana Duncan (Djae), Tiyana Sims, Aiyana Duncan, Rekeesha Duncan, Ricky Duncan Jr., Aa'Liyana Price, Maci Meaux (Ethan), and Chelci Ball. great-grandchildren, Kim Davis, Deuce Woods, Zuri Woods, Demi Woods, Mack Woods, Draelon Jack, Ja'Mari Brooks, Ja'Khyis Jackson, SirDarren Duncan Jr., Corey Jelks, Kianni Jelks, and Karter Jelks; brothers, Russell Duncan, Kim Duncan, and Tim Duncan; sisters, Yvette Duncan, Earnestine Duncan, and Marcella Duncan Fielder; special sister, Lisa Tucker; and a host of extended family members and friends.
