Janice Hebert, 82, of Leesville, Louisiana, passed away on October 3, 2025.
Jan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She proudly served her country as a member of the United States Army and later earned her degree in Criminal Justice. Known for her sharp mind and compassionate heart, Jan dedicated her life caring for all as the cornerstone of her family.
She was witty, funny, and full of life, always ready with a clever one-liner or the perfect piece of advice. Jan was the person everyone turned to for comfort, guidance, and strength and was the safest place to land. Her love for her family was unwavering and selfless; she gave without hesitation and always put others first. Her warmth, wisdom, and humor will be deeply missed, while her legacy of love and resilience will continue through the many lives she touched.
Janice is survived by her loving husband, Gerald "Jay" Hebert; her children, Dean Hebert and Angel Hebert Wilson; her grandchildren, Courtlynn and Jordan Hebert, Brendan and Cade Wilson; and her great-grandchildren, Liam and Mason Hastings. She is also survived by her brother, Roy Sayre.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Andy Sayre, and her brothers, Samuel, Jerry, Harold, Billy, Roscoe, Jeffrey, Glen, along with other beloved family members who were there to welcome her home.
A celebration of Janice's life will be held in her home with family & loved ones.
Her love was fierce, her spirit strong, and her presence unforgettable. To know Jan was to be loved and that love will live in us forever.
