Lawrence Everett Felts was born on November 16, 1941, in Jackson, Mississippi, and passed away on March 27, 2026, in Brandon, Mississippi. He was a retired entrepreneur and business owner in the Industrial Rag Business. Lawrence was a long-time member of McLaurin Heights Baptist Church in Pearl, MS. He lived in Pearl for over 56 years before moving to Brandon.
Lawrence was known as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he never met a stranger. He was quite the comical man who loved to be a jokester, bringing smiles to those around him.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nelda Kay Moore Felts; his daughters, Melanie Felts Steele and Holly Felts Owens; his sister Diane Thompson and her husband Charles Ray; his brother Hollis Lee Felts, Jr.; five grandchildren: Anna Regan Maines and her husband Aaron, Max Owens, Miles Owens, Carrie Steele Brown and her husband Landon, and Carlie Steele Hendrick and her husband Jimmy Dale; and four great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Maines, Millie Jane Maines, James Gunner Hendrick, and Lainey Ray Hendrick.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his father, Hollis Lee Felts, Sr.; his mother, Mildred Agusta Richardson Felts; his sisters, Eloise Herrington and Shelby Guzzetti; and his brothers, L.G. "Sonny" Felts, Rev. George Felts, and Jeffrey "Dottie" Felts.
Family and friends will have the opportunity to honor Lawrence's memory at Ott & Lee Funeral Home - Brandon, located at 1360 W Government St, Brandon, MS 39042. Visitation will be held on March 31, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM.
Lawrence’s simple joys and warm heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
