Lawrence Dale Garner

Lawrence Dale Garner, 65, of Virginia Beach, passed away on December 6, 2025. A beloved father, grandfather, son, and friend. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Hazel Johnston; his father, Danny Garner; and beloved sisters, Deborah R. Ferguson and Danita Dawn Phillips.
Lawrence was born in San Diego, California to Phyllis I. Nash Garner and the late Danny Garner. He graduated from Kellam high school where he completed the Votech electrical program in 1978. After high school, he attended an electrical apprenticeship with Todd Electric. He went on to begin his more than 40-year career as a master electrician with EMC and went on to proudly serve EMS for the last 35 years.
An avid sports enthusiast, he was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, the North Carolina Tar Heels, and the New York Jets. He loved camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He was a notorious storyteller, and he loved to see people laugh. He had a huge heart and would help anyone in need. He enjoyed spending his weekends golfing, playing poker, shooting pool, playing darts, watching NASCAR, reading, and spending Sunday afternoons with his grandsons.
Lawrence is survived by his loving mother Phyllis I. Nash Garner; daughter, Kelly Frances Cerutti (Garner); stepdaughters, Trista Mariee Valenzuela (Hines) and Jerica Leigh Hines; and grandsons, Mason Cramer and Henry Cerutti.
