Lawrence Michael "Mike" Henderson
Lawrence Michael Henderson, 62, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on March 04, 2026 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC. He was born March 18, 1963 in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Lawrence and Ernestine Short Henderson. At 16 years old, Mike began a career in the mining industry that lasted for more than 40 years. He was a dedicated employee who always gave his all to his career. Mike, through hard work and dedication, was promoted through the ranks until he reached management, finally retiring from Imerys. Mike loved being outdoors spending time fishing, golfing watching sports and NASCAR racing. He enjoyed family beach trips where he would spend hours laying in the sun and playing with his beloved grandchildren in the sand. Mike cherished his time outdoors. He loved spending time on his mower, which he had outfitted with an oxygen tank, so he could continue to manicure his lawn. Mike was a dedicated and faithful husband, father, brother and PawPaw.
