Lawrence Jackson Obituary

WATERBURY, CT
Lawrence R. Jackson Jr.
"Loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend"
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lawrence R. Jackson Jr., also known to family and friends as "DooDoo" or "Me-Richard", 28, of Waterbury, has to announce that he has been taken from this earth too soon, after being involved in a tragic motor vehicle accident on Friday, July 19, 2024.
Lawrence was born in Waterbury on April 18, 1996, a son to Lawrence R. Jackson Sr. and Tiawana Gatling, and was raised by his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Elaine Gatling. Growing up in Waterbury, Lawrence attended North End Middle School, Wilby High School, and was a member of New Deliverance Church of God In Christ. Lawrence will always be known as the family comedian. He not only had the amazing ability to make everyone laugh, but an even greater capability to light up any room he walked in with his intoxicating smile. From a young age, Lawrence always had a big heart, and constantly wanted to help the less fortunate. When he was a young boy, he took off his shoes to give to another child who didn't have their own shoes on their feet.
Always taking pride in how he looked, Lawrence always wanted to be dressed to the nines, and had an unbelievable collection of sneakers. Lawrence was also a talented basketball player, as well as a "dancing machine". Above all other things in the world, nothing meant more to Lawrence than his family. Spending time with family and friends was one of his favorite joys in life. He absolutely adored his siblings, had a special place in his heart for his only niece, and cherished his Bama and Dada.
Besides his parents, Lawrence R. Jackson Sr. of Philadelphia, PA, and Tiawana Gatling, of Waterbury Lawrence leaves behind to cherish his memory his maternal grandparents, Elaine and Raymond Gatling of Waterbury, his siblings, Daniel Maia, Raven Jackson, Heaven Gatling, Serenity Nowell, Dwayne Nowell, all of Waterbury, Chloe Jackson of PA, and his girlfriend, Destiny Nolberto. He also leaves behind his only niece, Paris Henriquez, his godmother, Marquita Nealy, his two godson's, Legend Clinton and Luca Powell, as well as a host of family such as his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Phyllis Jackson, and his aunt, Sonia Jackson.
Arrangements: All funeral services for Lawrence are going to be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury has been entrusted with handling Lawrence's funeral arrangements.
