Larry Formella, 73, of Kansas City, MO was born on July 9, 1952 in Kansas City, the son of Lawrence Louis Sr. and Nancy (Starzan). He departed this life, surrounded by his family, on December 25, 2025 to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He met his wife Marilyn Isaman on her 21st birthday in January of 1974 and they were married March 22, 1974; almost 52 years and had four daughters. After uniting in marriage, he began working for General Motors until the plant closed, at which time he started his own guttering business, and retired in 2018. During his life, he learned and taught karate, enjoyed riding motorcycles, going on cruises, spending time with his daughters and later in life loved spending time with his two grandsons, Ian Tyson (22) and James Hemsworth (4).
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Toni Bradley.
He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Lena Formella (Brandon Trotter), of Overland Park, KS; Alicia (Mike) Hemsworth, of Clark, NJ; Krissy, of Portland, OR; Kathleen of Portland, OR; and his two grandsons Ian and James. His three siblings, Jackie (Tony) Piotrowski, of Winter Haven, FL; Cindy (Butch) Peterman, Raymore, MO; and Joe (Linda) Formella, of Bradenton, FL and many other family members.
Late spring service will be finalized at a later date.
