Lawrence Quincy "Larry" Leeson

Lawrence "Sleepy" Quincy Leeson, 75, of Fairmont, WV passed away on Monday September 11, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. Larry was born on January 31, 1948, in Montana Mines, WV to late parents Joseph Leeson and Lucille Marie Prunty. He married his wife Shirley Leeson in 1967 and together they shared 56 years of love.
Larry served in the United States Army from 1967-1969. After his retirement from the armed forces, he worked as an Industrial Equipment Engineer and Equipment Manufacturer. He loved all things outdoors: hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and playing with his dogs.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Shirley; his daughter, Beverly Heldreth (Sam) and son Lawrence Jr. (Tammy); brother, George Leeson, and sister Delores Radcliff (David); 4 grandchildren, Frank B Riffle, Andrew S Riffle, Bryanna Leeson, and Brittanee Riffle. Larry also leaves behind 6 great grandchildren, and his beloved dog Harley. He is also survived by his very special niece, Ann, (she knows who she is).
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Malisa Dawn Towns.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home. As per the family's wishes there will be a private visitation and funeral. Followed by interment at West Virginia National Cemetery where Larry will be laid to rest privately with Military Honors.
