Lawrence Leo Lowe was born on April 10, 1951 to J. William Lowe and Mary (Albright) Lowe. Larry grew up on the Lowe farm and graduated from Summit High School in 1969. He attended Tech School for Auto Mechanics in Denver, Colorado. Larry joined the Air Force in December 1970. On June 18, 1971 Larry married (Jacquelyn) Jackie Owen. To this union they had three sons Lorne, Jeremy, and Lawrence (Leo) Jr. After Tech School he got his first orders to Minot AFB in Minot, ND. His oldest son Lorne was born there. He then went to Thailand and while stationed there his son, Jeremy, was born in Sisseton. He was then stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base where his youngest son Leo was born. Larry was also stationed at Fairchild AFB in Spokane, Washington. From there Larry got orders to England where he and his family spent 4 years. Next he was stationed at McGuire AFB in New Jersey for 6 years. Larry and his family's next move was to Holloman AFB where he served for 2 years. After serving 24 years in the Air Force Larry retired as a MSGT in December 1994. He and Jackie decided to move back to Summit where they bought 2 ½ acres and a three bedroom house from his mother.
Larry was a very kind and considerate man. He loved to talk and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Larry was the best husband, dad, uncle, grandpa, and friend you could ever ask for. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
Larry went home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 6, 2023 at the Bethesda Rest Home in Webster, SD due to complications he sustained from a fall at Menards where he had worked for 20 years.
Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years Jackie; his 3 sons Lorne, Jeremy, and Lawrence (Leo) Jr. Lowe; his sisters Anna Marie Brickse of Tennessee and Francis White of Tyrone, Pennsylvania; his brother David Lowe of Watertown, South Dakota; his granddaughter Ashley Lin Lowe of
