Albion: Lawrence “Larry” V. Nicastro, age 95, passed away June 8, 2025 at Unity Hospital. He was born on March 1, 1930 in Buffalo to the late Salvatore and Carmela (Pilliteri) Nicastro.

Larry was a faithful servant of Christ, going to seminary school at a young age and kept his devotion to his faith by praying to St. Gemma Galgani daily. He was an active parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Albion for many years as well. Larry kept busy woodworking, watching the NY Yankees, General Hospital, gardening, golfing and watching the Buffalo Bills. He kept very active for many years with the Albion High School Drama Club, helping to build the sets for the musicals each year. Larry worked as a Counselor at Albion Correctional Facility before his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Marian in 2016, grandson Nicholas Stevens, siblings, Salvatore Nicastro, Josephine (Joseph) Valentino and Mary (Paul) Arno.

Larry is survived by his children, Kathy Winans, Paula (Terry) Stevens, Harold (Rhonda) Blew, grandchildren Kailey (Fiancé Justin Arnett) Winans, Nathaniel Stevens, Megan Stevens, as well as several nieces, and nephews.

Larry’s family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411 on Thursday June 12th from 5:30-7:30pm. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, West Park St. Albion, NY 14411 on Friday at 11:00am. Interment will be held in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery in Oakfield.

Memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be made to the Albion High School Drama Club, C/O Albion CSD 302 East Ave. Albion, NY 14411.
