Lawrence "Wayne" O'Guinn, 74, of Springdale, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. He was born on August 2, 1950, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Lawrence Anthony O'Guinn and Betty Bush O'Guinn.
Wayne was a devoted and loving husband, a man of deep faith, and a cherished member of his community. He found joy in woodworking, crafting pieces that reflected his skill and creativity, and took great delight in bringing happiness to others. A faithful member of Harvest Hills Baptist Church in Springdale, Wayne loved the Lord with all his heart and treasured his church family. His professional life was marked by dedication as a heavy equipment operator and welder in the construction industry, where his strong work ethic was shone. Known for his kindness and warmth, Wayne left a lasting impression on everyone he met-no negative word could ever be said of him. He was the best, he loved big and was an example of unconditional love. Above all, he adored his children.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Anthony O'Guinn; his stepmother, Roberta O'Guinn; his mother, Betty Bush May; and his stepdaughter, Julie Worley.
Wayne is survived by his loving devoted wife of 29 years, Dana O'Guinn, of the home; his sister, Peggy White and husband Mark White of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; his half-brother, Barry May of Spokane Valley, Washington; his son, Christopher Wayne O'Guinn of New Orleans Louisiana and his granddaughter, Ava Rose O'Guinn and grandson, Aidan Christopher O'Guinn of Louisiana; his daughter, Lora Caye Parker and husband Bryan Lee Parker and grandson, Zachary Ian Parker of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his step-son, Charles Bayles and wife Sherrie Bayles of Springdale, Arkansas; his step-granddaughter, Sara Bayles Charlton and husband Patrick Charlton of North Little Rock, Arkansas; his step-grandson, Christopher Bayles and wife Lydia Bayles of Falls Church, Virginia and many nieces, nephews, cousins and one great-niece and great-nephew.
A funeral service celebrating Wayne's life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, followed by burial at Sons Chapel Cemetery in Fayetteville. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
