Bud was born on July 30, 1939 at home in Martinsburg, the son of John and Gertrude (Scheulen) Oligschlaeger. On October 23, 1965 he married the love of his life, Rosalie Brooks, at the Church of the Resurrection in Wellsville. Rosalie preceded him in death on October 26, 2017. Bud and Rosalie spent their years together raising a family and living on the farm they called home from 1974 until 2015.
Bud was a veteran and served in the US Army. He dedicated 39 years of his life to the Wellsville Firebrick Company. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.
It wasn't just his work or faith that defined him-Bud was a man who never met a stranger. He was known for his friendly, easygoing nature, and his children have many fond memories of him waving and saying hello to everyone.
Bud loved the outdoors, especially hunting dove and quail, and his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He adored Rosalie and was deeply devoted to his family, always making sure they knew how much they were loved.
