Lawrence D. Perkins, Sr., 77, of Bedford, NH died on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Manchester VA Medical Center, in Manchester, NH.
Mr. Perkins was born on September 27, 1944, in Jamaica Plain, MA, the son of the late Franklin and Dorothy (Corbett) Perkins.
Mr. Perkins was a veteran and served in the United States Navy.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Perkins was district manager and was employed by Lappen Auto Supply.
He enjoyed reading spy novels and watching shows with his wife whom he was fiercely dedicated to. He cooked big Sunday breakfasts, had secret recipes that he shared to only a selected few and was happiest when he could play with his grandchildren. Larry was a trivia enthusiast and could rattle off every answer to Jeopardy, without hesitation. His love of animals has been passed on to his children.
Members of his family include; his wife of 50 years, Lorraine (Bossie) Perkins, of Bedford, NH; three sons, Phillip Hall, of Concord, NH; Henry Perkins, of Kissimmee, FL; Lawrence D. Perkins, Jr., of Tiburon, CA; four daughters, Dawna Perkins, of Laconia, NH; Susanne Hall, of Merrimack, NH; MaryAnne Soule of Merrimack, NH; Patricia Murphy, of Bedford, NH; grandchildren, Patrick Williamson, Francis O’Brien, Thomas MacPherson II, Jeffrey MacPherson, Jonathan LeSage, Alex LeSage, Scott Murphy, Jr., Daniel Murphy, Brian Anderson, Andrew Anderson, Justin Anderson, Aiden Anderson, Avery Perkins, Miles Perkins, one brother, Franklin Perkins, Jr., two sisters, Dorothy O’Leary and Patricia Cahill, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Mildred Sweeney and Nancy Smolinski.
SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, September 15, from 12 – 1 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 1 PM. Military honors will follow at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at 2:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452 in memory of Mr. Perkins.
