Lawrence Wayne Rhodes, born on July 22, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on June 2, 2025, in New Boston, Michigan, at the age of 80.

Lawrence was a man of simple joys and deep passions. He found happiness in the great outdoors, whether it was through hunting, fishing, or tending to his yard. He was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Lions and held a special place in his heart for the University of Michigan. In quieter moments, he often engaged in spirited games of Monopoly, croquet and games of chance. In his younger years, he cherished his time with horses, a testament to his love for animals and nature.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Kristine Rhodes, and his parents, Wayne and Marion Rhodes.

Lawrence is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl Rhodes, who was the love of his life. His legacy lives on through his children: Kelly (Ron) Anson, Rebecca (Ken) Murphy, Lawrence (Rhonda Martin-Wolfe) Rhodes, Angie Cvetkovich, and Amy (Ryan) Duvall. He was a proud grandfather to 17 loving grandchildren and blessed with 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two caring sisters and his fur baby Carly.

Above all, Lawrence loved his family deeply, cherishing every moment spent with them. He leaves behind a family bound together by his warmth, humor, and unwavering love. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers please feel free to donate to the Pawsitive Change Animal Rescue in Lincoln Park, Michigan.

In honor of Lawrence's lifelong love for the Detroit Lions, the family is welcoming all who attend services to show their Lions Pride by wearing Lions gear.
