Lawrence Soprano Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bradley Funeral Home - Marlton on Nov. 16, 2024.
Lawrence T. Soprano, age 92, passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2024. Born in Sharon, CT and grew up in Roosevelt, Long Island NY. His father, John Soprano, Sr. immigrated from Itra, Italy and his mother, Tillie Domy Soprano from Luzern, Switzerland. Larry had an older brother, John Soprano, Jr.
Larry is predeceased by his loving wife Marilyn (nee Cook), married over 35 years. Both long time Cherry Hill residents of over 60 yrs. Larry leaves behind six children; Hugo Hansen (Sue), David Hansen (Kim/Mariellen), the late Valerie Kruzick (David), Larry Hansen (Aimee), Steve Soprano (Kim) & Sharon Soprano Carpenter (Ken/Chris). Larry has been blessed with sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren!
Larry was an Army Veteran in the 7th Infantry Division during the Korean War serving as a medic. His infantry division was part of the fighting on Pork Chop Hill/ Old Baldy in 1953.
Larry was best known for his love of motorcycles and has earned many professional accolades for scramble races. He was a member of South Shore Motorcycle club since he was a teenager and is a lifetime member of The American Motorcycle Association (AMA). Larry rode motorcycles well into his eighties!
Larry was a mechanic for Cherry Hill Volkswagon for over 20yrs and ran his own auto mechanic business. If you had a VW, chances are good, dad fixed your car!
Larry wore many hats during his lifetime but his favorite hat to wear was that of Dad and Pop Pop. The love and pride he had for his family was genuine. Dad was a loving, generous, kind-hearted man that was loved by all. He marched to his own beat and played by his own rules to live a simple life that brought him joy. He was a wonderful role model of strength, support and love as both a father and grandfather. His loss is profound and he will be greatly missed. He will be forever in our hearts.
On behalf of the family, we thank you so very much for the outpouring of love and support. Friends and family will be invited to a private Celebration of Life ceremony in his honor.
We ask that you honor our father in a way that would make him smile howl at a full moon, notice the cardinal that seems to be watching you, drink a Heineken or get excited at the sound of a passing motorcycle just like he did! If you choose to donate in his honor, please consider St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
