In soulful remembrance, we announce the passing of Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Trowbridge, age 94, on February 9, 2025, in Warner Robins, Georgia. A service to honor Larry's memory will be held at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, with visitation commencing at 10 AM followed by a ceremony at 11 AM in the chapel. Larry will be laid to rest with military honors at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, a testament to his enduring service and contribution to his country.
Born on April 18, 1930, in the humble landscape of Wolf Point, Montana, Lawrence's journey was one marked by dedication, service, and unwavering kindness. After graduating from Victor High School in 1948, Lawrence enlisted in the United States Air Force, embarking on a career where he proudly served his country. His assignments took him across the globe-from Washington State to England's Bent Waters, and the icy expanses of Greenland, eventually settling in Warner Robins, Georgia, by 1963. Larry retired from active duty in October 1968, leaving behind a legacy as a steadfast protector of the nation.
Following his military service, Larry's career journey continued as he joined Southern Railroad as a claims inspector in 1970. A pivotal move occurred in 1979 when the office transitioned to Atlanta, leading Larry to embrace a role as a civil servant at the Air Force Reserve Headquarters as a budget analyst, from which he retired in January 1993. Throughout his work, he remained steadfast, exemplifying loyalty and precision.
Larry's heart, however, remained deeply rooted in the simpler joys of life-traveling with his grandchildren to the mountains of Montana and Canada, and the sun-kissed beaches. His spirit was further enriched by being an engaged member of Green Acres Baptist Church, participating fervently in the Men's Sunday School Class as well as sharing camaraderie within the Warner Robins Bowling League. His membership with the Air Force Sergeants Association further highlighted his lifelong commitment to the bonds of brotherhood among veterans.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Thomas Trowbridge, treasured grandchildren Margret, Zachary, and Cole Bowen of Concord, Georgia, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved children, Gene Trowbridge and Jane Marie Trowbridge Bowen, his son-in-law Ronald Scott Bowen, parents, Ray Trowbridge and Bertha M. Readicker Trowbridge and siblings: Raymond, Dwight, Elizabeth, June, and Patricia. Larry leaves behind a lasting legacy.
May Lawrence Joseph Trowbridge's journey onward be ever peaceful, as we cherish the memories of a life beautifully lived-a gentleman, a veteran, a cherished family man, and a soul of immense kindness and loyalty.
