Lawrence J. Waldhauser lived 100 years worth of adventure in just 93 years. He graduated high school early at the age of 16 and remained a student for life. During his time in the US Navy, Larry propelled himself to the rank of Petty Officer First Class within three years of service--the quickest trajectory the Navy allowed. His military service introduced him to radar and electronics, and sparked a fascination that would eventually lead him to obtain a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. While attending UW, he met the love of his life. Larry was introduced to Marie D. Schmidt at his brother Robert's wedding, where she was bridesmaid to Ruby. After numerous dances and dates to the movies, Larry and Marie had their own wedding in 1958. The pair was blessed with 59 happy years of marriage, and four children. With ten grandchildren and two great grandkids spread across many different states, Larry remained involved in all of their lives through emails, phone calls, and visits. He enjoyed passing along his knowledge of finances and fishing so that everyone in his family had the tools they needed to prosper.
