Lawrence Joseph Williams Sr

Lawrence Joseph Williams Sr (Coon, Daddy) transitioned into life eternal September 11, 2025, at the age of 89. Lawrence was born on April 29, 1936, to the late Arthur Lee and Louise Williams in Boscoville La. Lawrence united in marriage to Kate Roberts Williams and to that union five boys were born, Lawrence (Belinda) Williams, Jr., Leonard (Paula) Williams, Leon (Phyllis) Williams, Lonnie (Nira) Williams, and the late Louis "Doddie" Williams, one daughter Lydia (Calvin) Bowman. God also blessed Lawrence and Kate with three other children, Felthus (Samantha) Williams, Clarence Williams, Dale Williams and bonus son Denzel Ridley (Niya). Lawrence attended Locket Elementary School and had to exit school at a young age to work. He held many jobs and retired from Kings Construction. Survived by his wife Kate Roberts Williams, siblings: Patricia (the late Clifford) Campbell, Dorothy (the late Frank) Johnson, Henry (the late Betty) Williams, Fay (the late Raymond) Duplessis, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Aurthur and Louise Williams, Grandmother Lidia Dordina Wiliams, siblings, Marie Carrier, Lionel Williams, Aurthur Lee Williams Jr., and sister-in-law Sasha Williams. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, September 27, 2025, for 11:00 a.m. at Spiritual Sunlight Baptist Church, 2400 Independence Street, New Orleans, LA 70117.
