Lawrence A. "Larry" Wills

Lawrence A. "Larry" Wills, 79, of Chillicothe, passed at 4:53 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, in Hospice of Central Ohio at Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born December 13, 1946, in Vinton County, to the late Clifford John and Frances Tripp Wills. On August 23, 1975, he married the former Sharon Clarke who survives. This year they celebrated their 50th Anniversary.

Also surviving are daughters, Tara (Chuck) Legar DPT and Dr. Laura (Kody Myers) Wills MD, both of Athens; grandchildren, Kate, Cole, Cory, Sophia, Kalliope, Lyndon, Zion, and Avianna; a sister-in-law, Pam Dawson; and a brother-in-law, Charles (Mary) Clarke. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Sue Clarke.

In 1964, Larry graduated from McArthur High School. He attended Ohio University where he received a Bachlor's Degree in Civil Engineering in 1969. Larry retired in July 2010 from the Ohio Department of Transportation's District 9 office where he had worked for 42 years. He was a Ross County 4-H Advisor for 15 years, Adena Hospice Volunteer for 20 years and was a referee for the Ross County YMCA Marlin Swim Team.

A celebration of his life will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2025 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
