Layth "Leo" Sagman, age 66, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2025, at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born on December 14, 1958, in Basrah, Iraq, to George and Sowad (Farage) Sagman.

Leo came to be known as a warm, hardworking, and charismatic presence in the Toledo community. A dedicated restaurateur for many years. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to open Leo's Coney Island on Airport Highway, which he operated until 2005. In later years, Leo worked in transportation, running several cabs for the Black and White Cab Company from 2010 until recently.

Beyond his work, Leo had a love for collecting, especially stamps, gold, and silver-and he was an avid bottle collector, cherishing pieces of all shapes and designs. He also took great pride in sharing stories from his collections. More than anything, Leo adored his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and whom he treasured deeply.

Leo was preceded in death by his beloved parents, granddaughter, Leilah Sagman, and his brother, Basil Sagman. He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Nancy (Miller) Sagman; his daughters, Natasha Sagman (Brandon Allison) and Suad Sagman (Arthur Buckley); his sister, Lubna (Jalal) Selwan; grandchildren, Anthony Allison, Joseph Allison, Elijah Allison, Isabella Sagman, Genevieve Allison, Christian Allison, and Sophia Allison. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews that he adored, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, August 18, 2025, after 10:00 a.m. at The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Road, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with David MacPherson officiating. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery.
