Lazaro Celestino Pacheco, 89, passed away June 8, 2024. He was born April 5, 1935 in Trinidad, CO to Selestino and Florinda Pacheco who precede him in death along with siblings, Gene (Helen) Pacheco and Frances Martinez; in-laws, Josephine Moguez, Steve Navarette, Albert Navarette, Tony Navarette, Ernie Navarette, Florence Barela and Charles Navarette.
Lazaro served in the United States Army with a rank of SP4-E4 and receiving the Good Conduct Medal. He retired with 38 years of service in the wire mill department at the CF& I. He enjoyed fishing, and auto mechanics. He looked forward to coffee at Loaf N Jug with friends. He was a Raiders fan and enjoyed watching WWE wrestling. He took great pride in his yard; his grass was so green, and his flowers were so beautiful. Lazaro and his wife were married just shy of 66 years; their love continued to only grow through the years. They always showed affection towards each other; holding hands while they watched TV and cuddled every evening. He was the patriarch of four generations and shared his love and wisdom with his family. His family was his everything and spending them with each of them was his favorite.
Lazaro leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife, Katherine Evelyn (Navarette) Pacheco; his daughters, Pamela (Ray) Torres, Donna (Stephen) DuVall and Liz (Tom) Grutt; grandchildren; Leonard DuVall, Jose (Judith) Torres, Raelyn Torres, Michaelyn Torres, Justin DuVall and Carl Grutt; 8 great-grandchildren, Andre, Charlotte, Selena, Jose, Celestino, Alexis, Russell and Chayton; In-laws, Helen Trujillo, Ray Navarette, Gloria (Mike) Sanchez, John Navarette; many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Rosary 9:20 am with Funeral Mass to follow at 10a.m., Thurs., June 13, 2024, both at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Internment, Roselawn Cemetery. Military Honors, by Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team. Online condolences, www.angeluspueblo.com
