Leah A. Comes, age 64, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025. She was born on April 19, 1961, to the late Lee and Shirley Fraas in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her five children (three from her blended family and two biological): Bridget Comes, Andy (Audra) Comes, Kevin (Tara) Comes, Nate (Sara) Stohrer, and Brandon Stohrer; and eight grandchildren: Owen, Gavin, Charlie, Gwen, Katalin, Tessa, Vesper, and Ariana. Leah is also survived by her sister Janene (Dan) Breading, her niece Lauren (Jake) Weber, her nephew Justin (Kristin) Breading and their families. She will be missed dearly by all. Leah is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chip. Leah graduated from Elizabeth Forward HS ('79) and went on to receive her Bachelors degree from Westminster College ('83). She participated in various Choirs and was a Majorette in the Marching Band at both schools. Leah was a stay at home mom after her kids were born. She then started her own interior design and painting business which she operated in various capacities for many years. She was also a regional representative for Hallmark Cards and then got her Realtors license before eventually retiring in 2020. Outside of work, Leah was an active member in the Medina community, and through these activities, touched the lives of many people and made many of her lifelong friends. She attended both Heartland Community Church and Holy Martyrs and was a long time member of the Holy Martyrs Choir. She was part of the Medina City Schools PTA when her kids were young and was later involved in the Medina County Women's Endowment Fund. Leah loved to attend her kids and grandkids activities and took great pride in decorating her home and hosting family get-togethers. She also enjoyed gardening and landscaping, and going on family trips, preferably to warmer climates. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, but genuinely enjoyed watching or attending any sporting event. Leah also loved dogs, and took every opportunity to spoil the puppies and grandpuppies she cared for over the course of her lifetime. We know that she is smiling getting to be with them all again. Family and friends may visit on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 5-7pm at Waite Funeral Home, 765 North Court Street, Medina, Ohio 44256 and Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 9-10am at Holy Martyrs Church, 3100 Old Weymouth Road, Medina, Ohio 44256. A service will then be held at 10am. Burial at Spring Grove Cemetery will directly follow the service. A private remembrance will take place after the burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.waitefuneralhome.com.
