Leah Couts, daughter of Clive and Margaret McDonald, passed away May 23, 2025 after a brief illness. She retired after a long career as a surgical nurse. Leah enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Leah’s “happy place” has always been the family farm in Dresden Ohio. A special Thank You to Elaine for being so kind and helpful to Mom when she went to the farm for visits.
Leah is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Couts, brothers John McDonald and Erwin McDonald, sisters Catherine Headley and Louisa Howard, as well as her great granddaughter Carrie Martin. She is survived by daughters Lisa Machek, Margaret Holland, Susan Marzano (Roger), and son Douglas Couts (Judy), granddaughters Leah Haidet (Ryan), Brandi Martin, Diana Couts and grandsons Eddie Machek Jr.,Jack Couts (Brittany), great grandchildren Nola Martin, Bella Martin, Dylan Haidet, Kaitlyn Couts, Abigail Couts, Brennan Couts, Mackenzie Couts, and Madeline Couts.
Calling hours will be held Saturday June 14th from 12PM - 1PM with a memorial service at 1PM at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, Ohio 44305. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to her church, Compass North. By mail to PO Box 26104 Akron Ohio 44319. Or online at https://cnc.churchcenter.com/giving.
