Olive Marie (Crouch) Couts
Olive Marie Couts was a woman of profound humility, boundless compassion and unwavering devotion. She passed away on December 20, 2025 at the age of 92.
A Life of Service and Heart
Born in Hartshorne, OK on January 15, 1933 to Owen William Crouch and Martha Marie (Beall) Crouch. At the center of Olive's world was her husband Bill of 74 years. The high school love birds married with little money but lots of love. Olive worked early in their marriage at the telephone company while Bill attended college at OCU. Bill and Olive had two children, Bill Jr. and Karon. During the years of raising their family Olive worked at Couts Plumbing. She transitioned into full time work for the Oklahoma Firefighters Association. She eventually brought her skills and work ethic to the City of Mustang where she was the assistant for the City Manager and eventually stepped into the role of interim City Manager.
Her Legacy of Kindness
Olive was a giver. She never sought recognition or praise. She was known for her inclusivity; she accepted others without judgement. Her friendship lasted a lifetime. For those of us left behind and those that didn't know her well she would want you to know: "People are more important than things." She has left behind several generations of family with that thought ingrained in their hearts.
