Leah Danette Landry, aged 65, passed away unexpectedly on November 28, 2025. She was received in death by her parents Shirley and Dempsey Burwell, her grandson Ashton, her granddaughter Karen, and her grandson Maximus. She is survived by her children, Erin (Neil-Spouse) Turner, Katie (Robby-Spouse) Rule, Stephanie (Chad-Spouse) LeJeune, and Robert Leger; her grandchildren, Michaela, Mya, Sarina, Brianna, Conner, Kaden, EJ, Cheyanne, Azriel, Anna, Lillian, Axton, Daxter, Scottie, Felix, and Wesley; and her great-grandchildren Jasiah and Lyric.
Leah was a resident of Lake Charles, LA at the time of her death but had grown to love traveling between her kids' homes in Lake Charles, LA, Richlands, NC, and Westminster, MD. Leah loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren more than she loved anything. She made friends everywhere she went and made a huge impact on anyone she came in contact with. She was a light in the darkness for anyone who knew her. She was a strong advocate for animals of all kinds and loved to spend time with family and friends. She was a kind soul who will be deeply missed by everyone.
Per Leah’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. The family asks that you donate to your local animal shelter or rescue in her name in memory of her instead of sending flowers.
