Leana "Lee" Capuano entered eternal life on August 12, 2025. Born May 25, 1922, a life-long resident of Canton, avid reader and lover of the environment, Leana graduated from Timken High School and was an active member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church since 1967. Prior to 1967, she was an active member of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist and supported St. John School in many ways, serving on Home and School, the Altar and Rosary Society, and as a Girl Scout leader.

Leana was preceded in death by her parents, Mary (nee Cavalier) and Peter Sparvoli; her beloved husband of 52 years, Anthony Capuano; sister, Louise McIntee; brother-in-law Robert McIntee; and nephew, R. Christopher McIntee.

A woman of strong faith, Leana was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and compassionate mentor to many. She is survived by her children: Carolyn Capuano, HM (Canton), Mark Capuano (Bolivar), and Susan (Mark) Hoffman (Green). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Nicholas (Mallory) Hoffman, Miranda Capuano, and Vincent (Jessica) Capuano; special niece, Jane (Terry) Balla; and by four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church on Monday, August 18 at 11:00AM (visitation at 10:00AM in the Church) with Rev. Benson Okpara, pastor, presiding. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Massillon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School, to the Maryknoll Fathers, Brothers, and Lay Missioners (Maryknoll, NY), or to VMESC GROW Camp (PO Box 424 Villa Maria, PA 16155).
