Rachel Leann Baker, 41, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025, after a courageous 10-year battle with ALS. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee and later moved to Yukon, Oklahoma, where she spent much of her childhood and early life. While attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, she met her future husband, Timothy Scott Baker. They married in 2003 and eventually made their home in Shreveport.
Leann was a devoted mother to her three children – Eli, Easton, and Annalee, and her deepest joy was watching them grow. She poured her heart into every part of their lives, finding purpose in the everyday moments of motherhood. For over a decade, Leann courageously faced the challenges of ALS, driven by her determination to see her children reach their milestones and thrive. Even in the face of adversity, she never lost her warm smile and her generous spirit. Alongside her role as a mother, Leann also took great pride in her supporting her husband Scott's professional baseball career, cheering him on at every turn with strength and encouragement.
Leann will be remembered for her kind heart, tireless spirit, and compassionate nature. Exceptionally organized and energetic, she never let the grass grow under her feet, as her family lovingly says. She enjoyed traveling, reading, listening to music, and a good shopping trip, but above all, she cherished time spent with her family. Her home was often filled with laughter and the sound of her favorite songs. Those who knew her speak of her warmth, strength, and the countless small acts of kindness that defined her life. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Leann was preceded in death by her father, Clifton "Kenny" Glass, and her grandmother, Virginia Lewis. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Timothy Scott Baker; their three beloved children, Eli, Easton, and Annalee; her mother, Tanya Glass; her sister, Jamie Branan, along with Jamie's children, Caylin, Seth, and Courtney; and her in-laws, Steve and Donna Baker.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Osborn Funeral Home. A private family service will follow on Friday, June 20, 2025.
The family also wants to express special gratitude to Pastor and caretaker, Von Eric McKee, who cared for and ministered to her during her illness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
