LeAnn Green

LeAnn Green, 78, of Rochester, MN, went home to the Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Washington Reformed Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held an hour before the service. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley. LeAnn was the daughter of Chris and Orti (Eckoff) Green of Ackley, Iowa. Le Ann spent her early years on a farm near Ackley and loved playing with farm cats.

Le Ann graduated from Ackley/Geneva High School and earned her BA in English and MA in Secondary Reading from the University of Northern Iowa. She spent most of her professional career with the Rochester Public Schools as a middle school reading teacher at Central, Friedell, and John Adams middle schools. Before her retirement in 2006, she taught English at John Marshall High School.

LeAnn enjoyed reading and traveled extensively in her spare time. She traveled throughout the United States, sometimes attending conferences, always enjoying the culture of the location. She also traveled across Canada (Canadian Rockies, Canadian Maritimes) as well as internationally (France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Swiss Alps).

LeAnn was a member of the Rochester Education Association, Rochester Reading Association, and the International Reading Association. She was president of her condominium association for a number of years and a Minnesota Twins fan. LeAnn was an active member of her church - Rochester Community Church (RCA) - for many years.

LeAnn is survived by her nephew, Jon Green (wife Renee Roiseland). She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joe.
