Michael P. Murphy passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026 in Berthoud, Colorado. He was born on May 26, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late John F. (Jack) and Dixie (Reppert) Murphy.
Michael grew up in Mount Vernon, IA. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1970. After graduation he attended college at North Iowa Area Community College and University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He was the president of his fraternity, Pi Kappa Alfa at UNI.
Michael spent most of his working life in sales. He lived in Dallas, TX for many years. He owned a franchise of Express Services Las Vegas, NV. Following that, he worked for Palm Mortuary as a Pre-Need Funeral Home Representative.
Michael loved music and movies. The Beatles and Clint Eastwood were his favorites.
He moved from Las Vegas to Longmont, CO where he graciously cared for his Mother, Dixie.
Michael is survived by his sister, Shannon (Murphy) McKinney; brother-in-law, John McKinney of Mead, CO and his niece, Megan (McKinney) Maguire of Lincoln, NE.
Mike was a kind, gentle soul and will be missed by anyone that knew him.
No services will be held.
