Leanna May Hass, age 93, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2021. She was born on April 26th, 1928 in Milford, Iowa, to Otto and Theressa Lambertus and raised with her brothers Virgil Lambertus, John Lambertus, and Lester Lambertus; and, sisters Marian Walstrom and Myrtle Boddicker.
She was married to Dale John (Tom) Hass of Harris, IA, for 53 years, who proceeded her in death in 2002.
Leanna was proud to balance working outside of the house and raising six children for many years of her adult life to help provide and care for her family. She spent time working as an Avon representative, selling products from farm to farm and throughout her community. Her employers included Berkley, Campbell Soup, and Univac from which she retired.
Together, Leanna and Dale settled and created a home in Lake Park which served as the epicenter for their family throughout the years. Their growing family would often meet at this home to celebrate holidays and enjoy suppers lovingly prepared with items from their own vast garden.
Leanna so loved her family and was deeply invested in the lives of her siblings, nieces, and nephews, in addition to her many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who surrounded her.
Leanna was passionate about photographs that chronicled her life and would often share her memories through pictures with family and friends. Leanna was also a skilled needle artist and often had a project going. She took great joy in her pet lovebirds, who kept her company for many years.
Leanna was a longtime member of Concordia Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Leanna is survived by her six children: Marla Plantz of Port Charlotte, FL; Carla Hass of West Palm Beach, FL; Dale John (Sherri) Hass Jr of Branson, MO; Vertues (April) Hass of Lake Park, IA; Kim (Greg) Young of Zionsville, IN; and Mike (Kathy) Hass of Wahpeton, IA.
