February 4, 1957 – December 11, 2025
On Thursday, December 11, 2025, Leanne Gutzmann (Pyle) passed away peacefully in
Winsted, Minnesota, surrounded by her beloved family.
Leanne was born on February 4, 1957, in Minneapolis. She attended Holy Trinity School in Winsted, where she developed lifelong friendships and deep faith that guided her throughout life-always grounded, never judgmental. In her early teens, Leanne's family moved to LeeMarWay Ranch on Lake Mary, where she was raised with horses and spent countless days riding her favorite Appaloosa, Penny. Life by the lake gifted her a love of nature and a circle of friends who remained dear to her over the years.
In April 1985, Leanne married the love of her life, Chuck Gutzmann, and together they built a life on their family farm outside Winsted. Their partnership began the day they met and endured more than four decades of steady companionship. They were blessed with three children, and Leanne devoted herself to being a stay at home mother. She was a gifted homemaker with an unmistakable nurturing touch, transforming the farm into a lively haven for goats and other animals, along with many adored dogs over the years. Inside the farmhouse, Leanne cultivated warmth and familiarity-the hum of music often in the background, the scent of patchouli incense in the air. She enjoyed going for walks with the family and dogs at nearby Beaver Park, and she was an amazing cook who loved to open her kitchen to share meals, especially during farming years where she fed many hired hands.
Leanne also opened her heart easily to her children's friends, welcoming many as extensions of their family. That same spirit defined her work as a Nursing Assistant and Personal Care Attendant for adults with disabilities. She approached others with empathy, humor, and a grounded sense of care. Leanne was a truth teller-direct but warm, unfiltered but kind. She had a gift for listening and for making others feel understood, even when her advice came with a teasing grin. With Leanne, there were no clichés, only honesty and heart.
Leanne was truly one of a kind: a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who leaves behind a vibrant memory of love and laughter. Her presence endures in every shared story, favorite song, and comforting conversation inspired by her spirit.
Leanne is preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Wayne Pyle; her infant daughter, Alyssa; her dear Aunts Aggie and Lucille; and her father-in-law, Rodney Gutzmann.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Chuck; daughters Jessy (special friend Steve) and Alyssa (Tim) Storms; son Gage Gutzmann; grandchildren McKay, Marlowe, and Esmund; mother-in-law Carol-Ann; her sisters- and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews; her beloved dogs, Wally and Cope; and many cherished friends.
A visitation will be held at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted on Wednesday, December 17th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:45 PM, followed by a prayer service at 7 PM.
