August 29, 1934 – February 9, 2026
Our beautiful mother passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, at the age of 91.
Mary's life's story began on August 29, 1934, in
Marshall, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Adelore Hebert and Agnes (Morissette) Hebert and one of seven children. From a young age, Mary carried a quiet strength that revealed itself in the way she lovingly cared for her siblings.
Mary began her education in Marshall, where her lifelong love affair with Paul E. Paradis first began. While waiting for Paul to return from the Korean War, Mary furthered her education at the Mankato Teaching School. Upon his return, Paul fulfilled his promise to her, and they were married on June 7, 1954.
Together, they joined the family grocery business and made their home in
Winsted, Minnesota. Side by side, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family, raising four children who remained Mary's greatest joy.
Mary brought up her children with a quiet, gentle, and unwavering love. She was known for thoughtfully planned birthday parties that delighted not only her own children but the whole neighborhood as well. She found happiness in simple, meaningful moments - morning coffee, getting lost in a good book, filling the kitchen with the warmth of something baking, sharing stories, and laughter-filled game nights with friends. These were the ways she connected, relaxed, and expressed her love. They are the moments we will hold closest to our hearts.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Paul E. Paradis Sr.; her children: Pamela Paradis-Metoyer; Patricia (Steve) Garrison, Paul E. Paradis Jr and Peggy (Jeffrey) Rathkamp; brothers: Lee Hebert and Larry Hebert; sisters: Louanne Labeau, Loujean (Dan) Jerzak and LaRayne Hebert; grandchildren: Mollie Piehl, Angie Rathkamp (Bobbi), Kari (Shawn Kohler)Rathkamp, Shane (Kim) Garrison, Paul E. Paradis III, Lynn Boeger, Katie Paradis-Rowe, Phillip Paradis; great grandchildren: Gavin, Tommy, Vaydah, Myles & Noah: and many more who were blessed to be part of her life.
