Lee Bowling Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 8, 2023.
Lee was born in San Benito, Texas on August 21, 1934, to her parents Vera and Troy Bowling. She passed away at the age of 88 on February 7, 2023. Throughout her childhood and young adulthood, Lee lived in many different states and cities but called Austin, Texas home for the last 27 years. She raised a family of three girls, Cheryl Lynn, Cynthia Dianne, and Cristy Ann while criss-crossing the United States. Lee was a gifted singer and visual artist as well as an animal lover. However, her love of Hollywood, movie stars, Diet Coke, and any type of sweet was legendary. Her lifelong devotion to the cinema was only surpassed by her greatest love: her grandchildren, Rachel, Madisen, Grace, Jacob, and Mary. They were her pride and joy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vera and Troy Edwards, and her oldest daughter, Cheryl Lynn. Lee is survived by her daughter Cynthia Buechler and her husband Bill, their daughters, Rachel, Madisen and Grace and her youngest daughter Cristy Billeaudeaux and her husband Gary, and their children Jacob and Mary.
Lee was able to see the beauty in everything, especially in her last years. She appreciated a brilliant sunset, blue skies, and the feel of soft grass beneath her feet. It goes without saying that now she is having a Diet Coke with her new BFFs, Liz Taylor and Van Johnson, eating a piece of pecan pie!
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Catholic Relief Services for the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria.
