Henry Lee Cantrell, born on May 11, 1934, in Leander, Texas, to Henry and Vina Cantrell, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024.
Lee was a beloved friend to everyone he met and was cherished by many friends and family members. His warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.
Over the course of his life, Lee worked as a cedar chopper, carpenter, and jack of all trades. His dedication to his work and his versatile skills were admired by many. Lee enjoyed many hobbies, including whittling, woodworking, fishing, and reading western books.
Lee was preceded in death by his dear wife, Carole, to whom he married on October 6, 1961.
He is survived by his son Marvin and wife Diana Cantrell, daughters Sue and husband Fernando Hernandez, Kay and husband Ken Sicher, Clara and husband Armando Ordonez, 14 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Daytron Owens, Lee Hernandez, Bubba Cantrell, Alec Ordonez, Robert Ramirez, and Cam Owens.
The viewing will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm, followed by the funeral service on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 10am; both will take place at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Texas. A graveside service will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery.
Lee will be remembered for his unwavering friendship and the boundless generosity he showed to everyone around him. His legacy of kindness, willingness to help anyone in need, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him.
