Lee Donlon

Lee Donlon Lee "Vulture" Donlon passed away on July 30, 2021, at the age of 63 in El Reno, Oklahoma. Lee was born in Libertyville, Illinois on August 24, 1957, to Richard and Audrey Donlon. As a child, Lee grew up in Mundelein, Illinois with his siblings where he was an active member of the boy scouts and the proud owner of his first car, a 1966 Pontiac Tempest, that he was very proud of. Lee graduated from Mundelein High School in 1975 and shortly after started his career in the United States Air Force. He served 20 years and retired in 1995 as a Master Sergeant in Radio Repair at Tinker AFB. Throughout his military career he received numerous accolades for distinguished service and served at seven installations. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, earning his nickname "Vulture" from riding in circles on his motorcycle looking for some lost parts for his friend. Lee was an avid shooter who volunteered his time with the local 4-H club and youth gun initiatives. He was also a dedicated boy scout leader, amateur photographer and novice short-wave radio host. Lee was a loving father, grandfather and husband, who had a clever sense of humor and was always full of surprises. Lee is preceded in death by his father, Richard Donlon, his youngest brother Eugene Donlon and stepson Carl Slaton. He is survived by his mother Audrey Donlon, wife Dale Donlon, his daughter Christina Goreham wife of Roger; his son Michael Donlon husband of Julie. Brothers; Don Donlon and Dave Donlon and sisters; Sharon Donelli and Laura Ruffing. He is also survived by his stepchildren Daniel, John, Jennifer and Aletha. Grandchildren Dylan and Drevyn Potter, McKenzie, Ayden and Jaxzen Donlon; Jon-Mykel Johnson, Jamie, Caleb and Cayden Slaton. And great-grandson Lincoln Donlon as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held on Thursday August 5th at 2pm at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. Viisitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home in El Reno on Wednesday August 4th from 8am to 8pm.
