Mr. Lee Harding Gatlin, Jr., age 77, of Lexington, Indiana, entered this life on May 14, 1946 in Benton, Arkansas. He was the loving son of the late Lee H. Sr. and Vivian Bell Gatlin. Lee was raised in Benton and was a graduate of Benton High School. Lee was blessed with one son, Robby and one daughter, Laurie. He then attended University of Arkansas until he joined the Ironworkers Union No. 321 in 1968. He continued working as an ironworker and it brought him to Paducah, Kentucky in 1972. Lee assisted in building Marble Hill in 1977 and this work brought him to Jefferson County, Indiana in 1980 where he has resided since. He retired in 1984 when they shut down Marble Hill. On February 15, 1995, Lee was united in marriage to Marilyn Lou Baker at the State Hospital Chapel. Lee was a member of the Westfork Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being in the outdoors. He was a loving dad, papaw, and friend. Lee died on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at 6:52 p.m. at the Norton King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. Please Click Here to View the Video Tribute
A LOVING FAMILY
Lee will be missed by his loving son, Robby "Rob" Gatlin and his wife Cindy of Gurley, Alabama; his daughter, Laurie Sullenger of Metropolis, Illinois; his step sons, Joseph "Joe" Stratton and his wife Carol of Marietta, Georgia, and Steven Goldsberry and his companion Ronda Keith of Madison, Indiana; his step daughter, Julia Goldsberry Huttsell of Madison, Indiana; his grandchildren, Ashlee (Ryan), Nicholas (Danielle), Destini (Brandon), Paige (Justin), Zaylor (Desiree), and Kelli; his step grandchildren, Andy, Jennifer, Kimberly, Joshua, Austin, Trenton, Emma, and Nova; his numerous great grandchildren; his close friend, Margie Sparks of Madison, Indiana; his sister, Louise Lewis of Benton, Arkansas; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Harding Gatlin, Sr., his mother, Vivian J. Bell Gatlin, his wife, Marilyn Lou Baker Gatlin, his infant brother,and his great granddaughter, Addy Grace.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., by Pastor Jim Scroggins at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre - Hanover Chapel, 278 East Main Street Hanover, Indiana. Interment will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery near Chelsea, Indiana

VISITATION
Friends may visit Friday from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre - Hanover Chapel, 278 East Main Street Hanover, Indiana.
