Robert Baker "Bobby-Lou" Lewis Jr., age 91, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late Robert Baker, Sr. and Helen Marie (Baker) Lewis, was born on August 15, 1934, in Madison. He graduated from Madison High School where he played baseball and basketball. Bobby -Lou proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After returning from the service, he worked for Mayflower Moving Company for fifteen years, assisted in the construction of Marble Hill Power Plant, worked as a security guard at Indiana Kentucky Electric Power Plant, and eventually retired from Grote Industries. He was united in marriage to Nancy Lou (Humes) Lewis for 31 years, and they were blessed with two sons: Hauris and Mark.

Every weekend you would likely find Bobby-Lou throwing horseshoes, playing cards, especially euchre, watching old westerns on television, or spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, He was a member of the Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion, Madison, and was an avid fan of the Indiana University athletics, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Indianapolis Colts. Bobby-Lou was a very good man, who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asked, and who was a best friend to many. Mr. Lewis passed away August 15, 2025 at River Terrace Health Campus in Madison on his 91st birthday.

His life will be cherished by his sons: Hauris W. Lewis and his wife, Miranda of Senoia, Georgia, and Mark E. Lewis and his wife, Debbie of Madison; his grandchildren: Kaneesha Lewis and her husband, Thomas of Madison, Janay Hale and her husband, Kody of Madison, Jamilah Pedigo of Madison, Jacob Anderson of Decauter, Illinois, Jaiden Anderson of Senoia, Georgia, and Addisyn Lewis of Senoia, Georgia; his great grandchildren: Quincy, Averi, Tredan, Eamon, ElaMarie, Abigail, Emoni, and Oliver; his brother, James "Jimmy" Lewis and his wife, Joyce of Lafayette, Indiana; his former wife, Nancy Lou (Humes) Lewis of Madison; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Ralph Lewis and Neal Lewis; his sisters: Claudia Inskeep and Thelma Beatty; and his grandchildren: Tre Colber and Mercedes Lewis.

Friends and family may visit at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Sunday, August 17, 2025. Private interment will take place at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion, Madison. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
