Lee Karsten left earthly life to join his Lord and Savior in heaven on Monday, January 31, 2022, at the age of 79 years. Lee passed away at Spectrum Health Zeeland after a short illness. Lee grew up as a farm boy in Beaverdam, MI. He graduated from Unity Christian High School in Hudsonville, MI. He married his wife Carol Brower of Holland. Most of his working life was spent at Big Dutchman in Holland. In retirement he transported cars for De Nooyer Chevrolet. He faithfully attended Ridge Point Community Church along with its Life Groups. Lee and his family enjoyed camping trips along with a Good Sams Camping Club, attending sports events, traveling and 40 years of Mackinaw Bridge walking. He is survived by his wife Carol; his children: Steve Karsten, and Stacey Karsten and he was "Special Papa" to granddaughters Crystal Karsten and Abby Karsten and was soon to be great grandpa; his sisters: Euni Timmer and Elte Klynstra, Nancy and Jim Meyer; his mother-in-law Juliet Brower; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jerry and Elaine Brower, Carol Brower, Jan and Bud Bos, and Char and Rich Faber; and his special Aunt Susan Prins along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Ann Karsten; his father-in-law Clarence Brower; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Vi and Jake Klynstra, Lill and John Slenk, Viny and Kearny Zoerhoff, Merlin Timmer, Jun Klynstra and Larry Brower. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Friday, February 4, 2022, in the auditorium at Ridge Point Community Church, 340 104th Ave., Holland.
