"I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Lee (Sonny) Edward Locks was born on April 1, 1930, the youngest of 3 children born to Zula May Bethley and Edward Locks.
He received his formal education in the Brookhaven MS school district and also accepted Christ at an early age. He left Mississippi in his early teenage years with the goal of finding a better life and more opportunities. Sonny united in holy matrimony with Birdell Dixon and to that union 6 children were born.
Sonny was employed by Allis Chalmers, Siemen Allis and finally Millis Trucking, he retired at the tender age of 78. Sonny was a man of great generosity, a true gentleman with a kind spirit and an enormous heart that touched the lives of many.
In his leisure time he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching various sports, and attending church on Sundays.
Sonny departed this life on Friday February 14, 2025. And was preceded in death by his parents Zula May Bethley, and Ed Locks, brother Henry Bethley Sr., sister Lula May Anderson and son Paul Locks Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory sons Charles, Dennis, Danyl Locks; daughters Gladys and Birdie Locks. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Our family would be remiss without the special acknowledgement of Viva Crape and sons, who never said no when asked for advice, aid, support or service. Thank you V.
Visitation will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, 905 W. North Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53205 from 11:00 AM until the time of Service at 12:00 PM. Repast to follow from 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM at Brown Deer Boathouse, 7835 North Green Bay Road 53209.
