LEE JEAN PETTY, a beloved nail technician and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Born on September 5, 1934, in Pittsburg, Texas, she was a bright light in the lives of all who had the joy of knowing her.

Lee Jean, affectionately known by many, devoted her life to her family and her passion for beauty. She graduated from Fredrick Douglas High School and later pursued her love for cosmetology at the Madam CJ Walker School in 1963. Her career as a nail tech was not just a job, but a way for her to express her creativity and bring joy to others through her skilled artistry.

Described as "excellento" by her loving husband, William Petty, Lee Jean was a woman of incredible warmth and kindness. She carried herself with grace and elegance, earning her the affectionate title of "beauty queen." Her generous spirit manifested in countless ways, always being selfless and ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. A true caregiver, Lee Jean would travel to provide support and care whenever it was needed, showcasing her deep love and commitment to those around her.

Among her fondest memories, her son, Ray C. Wilson, Sr., recalls the exhilarating races they would have from the grocery store and the joyful times spent hanging out on the town together. Lee Jean was always a source of fun and laughter, creating cherished moments that will forever live in the hearts of her loved ones.

Lee Jean is survived by her devoted husband, William Petty; her son, Ray C. Wilson, Sr.; and a beautiful legacy of grandchildren: Rodrick Aikins, B. NaChole Wilson "Punkin," Yutease Leeane Warren "Tease Momma," Mikie West "Mike Mike," Ray C. Wilson, Jr. "Jr," and Alicia Danielle Wilson "Wee Wee." She leaves behind twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild, each of whom carries a part of her spirit. Lee Jean also shared a special bond with her sister, Doris Coleman.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ruben Falls, and her mother, Pearlie Mae Richmond Fallas, who undoubtedly instilled in her the values of love and kindness that she carried throughout her life.

As we reflect on the life of Lee Jean Petty, we remember a woman who was not just a nail technician but a true artist at heart, a devoted family member, and a friend to all. Her feisty spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue in the lives of those she touched so profoundly.
