Lee Stieben, 84, of Newton, KS passed away Saturday July 29, 2023 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on March 21, 1939 at Dighton, KS to Esther (Schwartz) Stieben and Albert Stieben.
He was a graduate of Scott City High School and received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education from Emporia State. He worked for many years as an educator and administrator, serving as a teacher, coach and Superintendent of Schools in several school districts. He also obtained his license to sell Insurance.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert & Esther Stieben, his brother Larry Stieben.
He is survived by his sister Sharon Strategier-Steele (Charles Strategier) of Fort Walton Beach FL, three children Michael (Susan) Stieben of Tonganoxie, KS, Amy Jo Stinchcomb of Halstead, KS, and Laura (Craig) Schmidt of Newton, KS.; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Shepherd’s Field Family Church, 515 W. Cole St, Mound Ridge, KS.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Children’s Miracle Network.
