Lee Edward "Eddie" Williams, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on January 6, 2025. He was born to the late Dwight Edward and Bernice Mae (Shirk) Williams in Marysville, Ohio, in 1942. He graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1960 and completed a teaching certification from Toledo University when he became an auto mechanics teacher. He married his wife, Natalie, in 1987 and they had many wonderful years together before her passing in 2021.
He was a man who loved the outdoors, he could be found fishing on Lake Erie, camping, enjoying the sights of Canada, or traveling with his wife. He was an auto mechanic by trade working many years at Bennett's Chevrolet with many loyal customers in the Marion area. He especially enjoyed working on Corvettes. Eddie became a teacher at Tri-Rivers Career Center replacing his high school auto mechanics teacher, Richard Slack, on his retirement. Eddie worked with Kenny and Mike Smith on their farm as a mechanic and driving grain trucks. Together they worked on a combined John Deere and International Harvester pulling tractor. After retirement from teaching, Eddie worked at Car Quest /Napa Auto Parts for over a decade. Eddie loved football especially the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State University Buckeyes. He was a former member of Marion Evening Lion's Club and was very involved in the club's U.S. Open Drum and Bugle Corps fundraiser. Eddie was also a member of the Marion and the Kenton Moose Lodges. He formerly attended Oakland and Wesley United Methodist Churches.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Bernice, his sister, Joan Dewitt, and his wife, Natalie Williams, and his first wife, Phyllis (Huntsman) Williams.
He leaves behind his son, Wayne (Sandy Pitts) Williams, his daughters, Janet (Tim) VanGorden and Lora (Brent) Lane, his nieces and nephews, Debbie Rebeel, Diana Carn, and Sheri Cook, his grandchildren, Andrew VanGorden (Rachel), Ethan (Summer) VanGorden, Jake (Miranda) VanGorden, Bryce Williams(Brittany), Brandon Congrove (Morgan), Tyler Williams (Ashley), Breanna Funk (Evan), and Paige Decker (Sean), and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held January 13, 2025, at Boyd Funeral Home from 11 am to 1 pm, with a funeral service starting at 1 pm. Procession to Marion Cemetery will follow immediately after. Celebration of Life Dinner provided by Meeker United Methodist Women and the community will be held at the Meeker Community Center immediately after. Boyd Funeral Home is honored to care for the Williams family in their time of need.
